Ah, driving in the mountains – a real pleasure! Nothing is as relaxing as waiting for hours behind a camper van crawling up the switchbacks at 30 km/h. The fresh mountain air? Of course, it comes directly from the exhaust fumes of the other cars jammed in the narrow road. And the view! Yes, it is breathtaking – when you are not busy looking at the road to avoid skidding into the next bend. The roads are so narrow that you wonder if they were ever intended for two cars. But hey, who needs space when you have the challenge of driving and enjoying the view at the same time? And the sudden changes in the weather! One moment sunshine, the next a snowstorm – perfect for an adrenaline rush. And when you finally reach the top of the pass, you are rewarded with a magnificent view that you can share with 100 other tourists who all think the same thing: „Wow, that’s really beautiful!“ Yes, driving in the mountains is really an experience – if you survive it!
«The cool air and all the autumn colors around me were simply overwhelming.»
One sunny morning, I set off in my Mini to Davos, one of the most famous ski resorts in Switzerland. The winding route not only provided an excellent opportunity to test the performance of my vehicle, but also breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. As I drove through picturesque villages and green meadows, the surroundings gradually turned into majestic mountains. Once in Davos, I enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the city before continuing my drive towards the Flüela Pass. The road to the pass was a driver’s dream, with switchbacks taking me higher into the Alps. The cool air and all the autumnal colors around me were simply overwhelming. At the top of the pass, I stopped to enjoy the spectacular view: snow-capped peaks silhouetted against the bright blue sky. The drive back to Davos was equally exciting and made me reflect on the beauty of nature and the joy of driving. This drive was an unforgettable experience that rekindled my passion for driving.
